The Maleny Hinterland area has so much to see and do. You can visit the local wineries, the famous Maleny Cheese and Maleny Dairy factories, beautiful art galleries, and the magnificent parks and nature reserves throughout the area. 

Find fantastic food and delicacies at the local restaurants, cafes, fudge shop, the famed Colin James Ice Creamery, and great finds at unique boutiqes and markets across the range.

MALENY 

The art and artisans of Maleny are right at your doorstep. If you arrive during an open-studio weekend you will have the opportunity to see some of these grand masters at work and buy directly from the artist whilst listening to how and why they create what they do. Many of the fabulous studios in this region produce work that is seen in houses and galleries around the world.

The rainforest walks at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve are a must do if you love a good walk.From Mountain View Road enjoy the picturesque views of the Glass House Mountains. Lake Baroon offers sailing, fishing, swimming, paddleboarding and canoeing. Even a simple drive through the countryside to enjoy the rolling green hills is an enjoyable afternoon. 

AUSTRALIA ZOO

Located just 20 minutes drive from Charlie's Pocket, Australia Zoo is a fabulous day out. Bring your walking shoes, a camera, and water, and spend the day exploring this wonderful place. There are a number of exciting wildlife shows to see, friendly zoo keepers that gladly share their knowledge, and animals that you can get up close and personal with. 
 

MAPLETON FALLS

On the northern point of the range, Mapleton boasts beautiful views of the coast and is where you will find Mapleton Falls National Park and Mapleton State Forest, where there are great hikes and swimming holes to discover. In the centre of town, Lilliponds Park is a popular location to have a picnic in the village and has a children's playground and BBQ area.

KONDALILLA 

Kondalilla Falls National Park is a hiker's paradise. The park has a range of walks to suit hikers of all abilities. The Falls plunge 90 metres into a valley of rainforest and the pool at the bottom of the Falls is a hiker's oasis and a great spot to spend an afternoon in and out of the water.

 

KENILWORTH

The Kenilworth State Forest and Conondale Ranges National Park are a fabulous starting point for the off road cyclist and dirt bike enthusiasts. Great mountain bike trails and off road adventures make this one of the areas most popular attraction for the adventurous rider. The road ride from Maleny to Kenilworth and back along the range is one of the more popular Saturday morning rides with the local road cyclists. 


MONTVILLE 
Montville's is a quaint little village with a dizzying array of interesting shops and cafes. Here you will find galleries and fine arts shops to explore amidst Swiss and Bavarian chalets, Tudor, Irish and English cottages, an old mill water-wheel, and traditional  Queenslander cottages in amongst colonial buildings. Montville has mutiple areas of access to rainforest walks at Lake Baroon and the Obi Obi Gorge. If you like the winery tours, visit the remarkable views and pleasant wines of Flame Hill Vineyard and Settlers Rise Vineyard.
